Mark Beeson On Obama Presidency
Mark Beeson, Senior Pastor at Granger Community Church, is a pastor I deeply respect. He is one of the most humble and generous leaders I have ever met, and the ministry he leads at Granger is pretty amazing. This past Sunday, Mark spoke about how Christians should think about an Obama presidency.
Generally at St. Paul's we avoid such topics from the pulpit, though I did post some thoughts on the blog last week which you should check out if you haven't already (here, here and here).
So Mark gave a message on the topic and I think it is excellent. Now while I have never talked politics with Mark, my sense from his blog and other things I have read is that he is politically pretty conservative. He is pretty open about his support of McCain over Obama -- and that McCain probably was not conservative enough for him.

I think this is great. Rather than bashing either one of the previous candidates, he presents a case for what we as followers of Christ ought to do during this time which I think is true during any presidency. Awesome thoughts and instruction, thanks for posting this Ben.

I appreciate Pastor Beeson's positive spin on the situation. I pray that he is correct in his belief that Christians will have a voice. Unfortunately, I'm afraid our voice may fall on deaf ears. Our government is soon to be tipped to the liberal side, there won't be much balance for a while at least. The liberal agenda will have a much easier time over the next few years.
I pray that God might find a way to influence president Obama to change his mind on a few things, especially abortion. He may be dedicated to his own family, and that's good, however there are 3 million unborn babies each year who don't feel like they are part of his Christian family. If it's not part of God's plan at this time then here is where your's and my tax dollars will soon be going in more vast quantities than they already are: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=83958 I fear we will soon see the true side of President Obama, although I hope I am pleasantly surprised.
