Retreat Reflections

I had the privilege of being the speaker on a retreat for high school students yesterday up in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. It is an unbelievably beautiful time of year to be in the Berkshires.
The retreat was great. I love hanging out with high school students. It was a nice mix of kids who take their faith very seriously (and could put many adult followers of Christ I know to shame in terms of their passion, discipline and commitment!) as well as seekers, skeptics (and even a few hostiles).
As a speaker, I love that kind of a mix.
Some people I know think those are hard audiences to speak to, but I love it.
It is the Gospel that saves and it is the Gospel that sanctifies so really we all just need to hear the Gospel!
I gave two talks and they were focused on looking at the life of Peter--his calling (grace), his water walking days (success), his denial (failure!) and his reinstatement (grace again!) If I had a third talk, I would have jumped to Peter's letters and the wisdom of an elder Peter.
It was a great day and really count it as a privilege!
