Thoughts on Homosexuality

Tonight at the 6PM service, during our discussion and "talk back" portion, I made a promise that (1) we will do a full sermonic treatment of the homosexuality issue soon at St. Paul's, and (2) I would post some thoughts on the blog. Vince also already posted some resources that deal with this issue in an earlier post today here.

Probably the best way for me to post my thoughts about the issue is by posting a paper I wrote on the topic a few years ago in seminary about the topic. While I am by no means an expert, this paper reflects accurately my best understanding of the issue both biblically and pastorally.

It is ten pages long... sorry. But if you take the time to read it I would be happy to hear your thoughts. We can also have a discussion about the issues, as long as everything promises to be respectful in their tone and language--I trust that we will!

Here is the paper if you want to read it (click here).

  • Ben, I thought your answer at the 6:00 service re: people being gay was inspired--thoughtful, compassionate, and adhering to scripture. Well done!
