Quick Report & Update on Properties
Just a quick update on some developments today in terms of both properties we are pursuing (which for ease of reference on the blog I will simply refer to as "Coventry", which is the new 60-acre property about 2 miles down the road from our current "Storrs" building):
- Regarding the Coventry property, our attorney and realtor met with the town planner in Coventry today and it was a very encouraging meeting. It was our first conversation about size/scope of the project and no red flags went up and no yellow penalty flags were thrown.
- Regarding the Storrs property, our application to expand our parking lot to 60 spots was approved unanimously by the Mansfield Inland/Wetlands Agency tonight. That is a great thing!
- Also regarding the Storrs property, we had a Public Hearing in front of the Mansfield Planning & Zoning Commission seeking approval to double the size of our chapel to 240 seats. While we have no immediate plans to do this, we need to know that it is possible in order for us to pursue purchasing the building in the future. The hearing went really well and I expect we'll get full approval at the next P&Z meeting in two weeks.
Overall, a very exciting and positive day in terms of the 150 DAY CHALLENGE.
