Seriously Bummed

I am seriously bummed that we had to cancel tonight. One of the toughest calls we have to make as leaders sometimes are decisions like these.

I know there were people coming tonight whom their friends were praying for, investing in, and have been inviting for a long time. And they finally said YES. And they were coming and would have had an amazing chance to encounter Christ. I also know that some of those people won't come another time... this was it.

That's why we held out as long as we did... because as long as there is a chance, we'll hold onto that chance. But at some point it became obvious it was not going to happen.

Would have been easier to call it earlier? Would it have been more convienent for all of us to call it earlier?

Sure.

But nothing we do is based on easier or more convienent.

If that was the metric we wouldn't be doing Imagine Christmas at all. We also wouldn't be launching a campus in Manchester, pursuing the property in Coventry, or doing hundreds of other things we do.

Our metrics is simple: faithfulness and fruitfulness.

Period.

And what makes me proud tonight as a leader are all of the volunteers who said "if we are on, we'll be there!" This is the kind of faithfulness that moves mountains and can shake the very foundations of the earth (in a good way!)

This kind of faithfulness says "I will show up no matter what... and then celebrate what God does."

This kind of faithfulnesss says "I am in... no matter the cost or consequence."

This kind of faithfulness says "The stakes are high, so the sacrifice must be high too."

Nothing excites me more than being around that kind of faithfulness.

And so while I am bummed tonight, I am also FIRED UP and PROUD of our TEAM.

We have seven services still planned this weekend: Sat at 2PM, 5PM, and 7:30PM; Sunday at 11AM, 2PM, 5PM, and 7:30PM.

We have walk-in seats available at all services.

So keep praying, keep investing, keep inviting, and most of all: KEEP BEING FAITHFUL!
