text:_ Psalm 119:9-16 Reflections

I think about this psalm in relation to my son who is a young man.

How can he keep his way pure?

By living according to the Word and hiding the Word in his heart.

When I was a kid growing up in fundamentalism, they used to always quote verse 11 as an argument for memorizing the Bible (and I still think that is a good application of the verse), but “hiding it in your heart” is deeper than just cramming words into your brain, isn’t it?

I want to treasure the Word and delight in it and safeguard it in my heart.
