Sometimes God Just Makes You Smile

And today was one of those times!

Starting this morning, it has been one smile after another.

This morning I had a great meeting for pastors at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. It was encouraging and some great ideas and connections came out of it.

Smile #1.

Late this afternoon I wrapped up pre-marital counseling for a couple getting married in a few weeks. They are great and it is so much fun to watch what God is doing in their lives.

Smile #2.

At dinner tonight I hung out with our Board chair and got my annual evaluation. Not only did he pick up the check, but there are few things more encouraging to me than this process. I really appreciate having a Board that takes the time to do annual in-depth, organization-wide annual evaluation. I left very encouraged!

Smile #3.

Then tonight we had "Praying to Pentecost". A great 90 minutes of prayer -- no music, no teaching, just powerful prayer. Prayers of thanksgiving to God. Prayers for our Manchester campus. And prayers for our Manchester core team. At the end, people wanted to pray for me. They circled around, laid hands on me, and prayed for me as lead pastor for about 15 minutes. It was incredibly powerful and one of the most encouraging experiences I have had at St. Paul's in 5 years (and trust me, that is saying a lot!!!)

Smile #4.

I expect tomorrow to be MORE SMILES.
