Project Title

Medical Outreach Project

Just as the Water/Construction Project Team will depart on 1/3/09, so will we on the Medical Outreach Team.

We will spend the night in Panama City on will depart for Yaviza, by bus, on Sunday morning. We will spend our time in Yaviza sleeping in the local church. Our base of operations will be the local hospital. We will set our clinic up and have the indigenous people of the area come to Yaviza for treatment.

Hopefully, we will be able to bring trained medical personnel to the area to provide pediatric and general care. Dental and optical services are also needed. We can provide instruction in basic hygiene and dispense medications as they are available. We plan on having a Panamanian medical professional with us.

We will be spending all of our evenings in Yaviza - sleeping at the local church. It is people from the local church who will be ministering spiritually to those who use the clinic. We will return to Panama City on 1/10/09. We will enjoy the company of the rest of our teams in Panama City on the 11th and return to the USA on Monday, 1/12/09.
