Project: New Orleans

Have you been praying about an opportunity to join others at SPCC in mission?

Can't go to Panama, but want to do mission. We are preparing to take a team on Mission to New Orleans beginning March 20, 2010. We will be assisting with the reconstruction of areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Returning to Connecticut on Friday, March 26th. Approximate cost - $75 per person plus airfare.

While in New Orleans, we will be working with Lutherans CARE (Capitol Area Relief Effort). Our work will consist of assisting in the reconstruction from Hurricane Katrina. We will be involved in many areas of reconstruction and clean up to include: painting, sheetrocking, roofing, plumbing and general clean up. We will be working out of a local Lutheran church on Canal Street, sleeping and having our meals in their gymnasium. There is a good chance that we will be able to take in some of the local sites while in the area.
