This Christmas make a difference by using your gift money wisely.

There are so many organizations you can buy gifts and certificates from that directly improve the lives of people who are impoverished.

Consider doing Christmas differently this year. Here are my three favorite organizations:

Trade As One: Buy Fair Trade gifts.

Kiva: The Gift Certificate that keeps on giving.

Loan entrepreneurs money and watch as the success of their business improves their local economy and lifts them out of poverty. (When they repay, you get to reinvest the money!)

World Vision: Give a goat!

In lieu of a gift, give a goat or a chick or the gift of an education. Does you mom love gardening? Give seeds in her name to a family who needs them.
